Second Chance Series

Statement

Throughout my career, I have made works on paper, paintings, etchings, photography and ceramics that often depict the passage of time and the ephemeral nature of our lives.

I take pictures of ordinary places and use randomly found objects as the material for works that comment on a specific phase of our lives or period of time. More recently, the more detailed and figurative imagery has given way to a form of abstraction that is, for me, even more intimate.

The series I am presenting "Second Chance", uses painting and collage on hand-made paper, where found book parts stand out of context. This series invites the viewer to think about the disappearance of the paper format, and its supplanting by the digital. I give to these randomly found books a second opportunity, a second life.
